RaceBase Limited Parenthood Policy

Inclusivity & Support at RaceBase Events

At RaceBase, we believe everyone should have the chance to take part in trail and mountain running—regardless of age, gender, physical ability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or economic background. We’re dedicated to creating events that are welcoming and accessible to all.

Mountain running is about pushing boundaries, reaching personal milestones, discovering new landscapes, and connecting with a like-minded community. It also contributes meaningfully to physical and mental wellbeing. These opportunities for growth and enjoyment should be open to everyone.

Deferral Policy for Pregnancy, IVF & Adoption

We offer a compassionate deferral policy designed to support women undergoing pregnancy or fertility treatment, and parents who are adopting. This ensures they can participate in a future event when the timing is right.

Who Can Defer:

  • Pregnancy: Female participants who become pregnant after registering and before race day.

  • IVF: Female participants who begin IVF treatment during the same time window.

  • Adoption: Parents adopting a child under 5, with a confirmed adoption date falling after registration and before the race.

How to Request a Deferral:

Please send an email to hello@racebase.asia at any time between registering and the day before the race. Include documentation confirming your eligibility:

  • Pregnancy: A letter or certificate from a doctor, midwife, or qualified medical professional.

  • IVF Treatment: A note from your medical provider confirming treatment has begun.

  • Adoption: Proof of adoption and confirmation of the date.

Deferral Options:

  • Pregnancy: Transfer your entry to a future edition of the same race when you’re ready to return.

  • IVF Treatment: Secure automatic entry into one of the next two editions of the race.

  • Adoption: Defer to the next edition of the race.

There will be no additional cost, even if race fees increase during this time.

Our policy is designed to support greater participation from women and growing families, and to remove barriers that may prevent them from taking part. If you have questions or want to talk through your situation, please reach out—we’re always happy to chat.
